Cockaponset State Forest

Join renowned naturalist Bill Yule on Saturday, October 12 from 10 am - 12 pm for his "Role of Fungi in the Forest" hike. Bill will discuss the Role of Fungi in the Forest in symbiosis and as recyclers, decomposers, and parasites as he leads the hike in the Pattaconk Reservoir local preserve.

FREE to members and $5.00 for non members.

Bring a picnic lunch, water bottle, and comfortable shoes.


To the Pattaconk Recreation Area:

From Middletown area: take Route 9 south, Exit 6. Turn right off the exit ramp and go west on Route 148 for approximately 2 miles. Take a right onto Cedar Lake Road and drive approximately 2 miles. Take a left at the Pattaconk Lake sign.

From Old Saybrook area: take Route 9 north, Exit 6. Turn left off the exit ramp and go west on Route 148 for approximately 2 miles. Take a right onto Cedar Lake Road and drive approximately 2 miles. Take a left at the Pattaconk Lake sign.
